Jog-A-Thon 2017, Friday March 17
This years jog-a-thon will take place on Friday, March 17, 2017 in the field. all students will run, jog, skip or jump around our 1/10 of a mile track located on the schools field.
On Wednesday, February 15, 2017, the Student Leadership team here at OLL put on an assembly creating excitement for all of the students and faculty. This years goal is to raise $25,000 in pledges, making it the largest contribution to the Endowment Fund since the beginning.
This year on March17, 2017, the pouring rain and chilly temperatures could not stop the OLL students from running 3,969 laps around the schools arcade! Thanks to Clark County Public Utilities, Mr B. and Mr. Askman we were able to put 5 tents up to enclose the arcade. Our Joggers were able to stay dry dry and complete the run to raise money for the Endowment fund.
Thanks to our sponsors, Gaynor’s Automotive, Prairie Dental and ANdreson Signs all of the staff and students received a green “St. Patrick’s Day” jog-a-thon tshirt and set off to meet Holly Roger’s challenge to bring in $25,000 in pledges. Although they tried, we fell short on pledges but On May 1, 2017, Ms. Rogers honored the 2nd Grade request and she and other teachers took a pie in the face from each member of the second grade. The cheers were loud and the smiles were huge when teacher after teacher, staff members too, took a pie in their face.
In the end after all the pledges came in, the students of OLL added $19, 400 to the endowment fun
What does the Jog-A-Thon raise funds for?
The Jog-A-Thon was established as an annual fund-raising event in 2006 to help the school raise $1 million dollars for the Our Lady of Lourdes Endowment Fund. The Student Council and middle school students are involved in making this fun fundraiser the best it can be each and every year. We appreciate all of you!
The jog-a-Thon has contributed over $168,000 toward our goal of raising $1,000,000.00 for the
Our Lady of Lourdes Endowment!
We couldn't do it without you!
