Learning Support

Learning Support
All students do not learn at the same pace. Our Lady of Lourdes strives to support student learning at all levels with programs in place to address the needs of both low achieving and high achieving students. Our curriculum is designed to allow for flexibility within the classroom in order to meet student needs. We have the following programs in place to expand and support our basic curriculum.

Primary Reading Program
Our Lady of Lourdes has built in multiple levels of language arts/reading groups for Kindergarten through 2nd grade students. Within this grade range students are grouped according to ability. In this way we meet each student at their level and prepare them step by step for the reading and comprehension skills that will be necessary for academic success at the Intermediate level.

Middle School Math
Designed to meet the needs of all students, the middle school math program offers remediation for students who need help getting caught up to grade level and advanced classes for students who need to be challenged. In the middle school we provide 6th Grade Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II/Trigonometry. These classes are available to younger students who have tested into the classes.

On-Site Learning Specialist
Our Lady of Lourdes On-site Learning Specialist is available for students needing additional help. This private, fee based program is available for individual or small group tutoring for those students with physical or learning needs that require additional help.
Summer tutoring is also available.

If necessary, diagnostic testing is available through the public schools, ESD, and qualified professionals in private practice. School staff members frequently work in tandem with specialists outside the school and with parents to jointly plan the most appropriate strategies for each individual child.
