About The Teacher
I am beginning my fourteenth year here at Our Lady of Lourdes, and I still love it. It is wonderful to teach third grade children who are eager to learn, and to find what makes each one shine! This is my fourth year teaching the third grade here, and I also taught it in Southern California .
I taught kindergarten at Our Lady of Lourdes for ten years. Prior to that I taught for one year in the schools in Vancouver as a substitute while getting to know the area. In the years from '87 to '94 I taught in Orange County, CA. for Irvine Unified School District for grades 2-5. At that time I worked with many children who were learning disabled or had some behavior problems since I have certification for working with children who have special learning problems, It is important to me that children really have educational experiences tailored to meet their individual needs.
I was teaching in Northern California and raising a family in the Bay Area before 1987. My first teaching job was at the middle school level in Union City, CA.
My husband Greg and I will celebrate our 36th anniversary this fall! We have three terrific kids, and one granddaughter. Our son, Jeff, his wife, Bethany and their daughter, Brynna moved to Aurora, Co.a year ago We have two daughters, Annalisa, 26 who is at Therapeutic Living Center for the Blind in Reseda, CA., and Katie, 24 . Katie is in her second year of Vet School at WSU, Pullman. Since Katie enjoys working in our room, you may see her sometime this year! I love teaching third grade and I am so happy to get to know your children!
Mission For The Class
To get along well as friends and learn something new every day! I also wish to help each child strive to do his/her best and to find one's own individual voice and talents.
